Project Scheduler (Remote/Telecommute)

We are currently seeking a Project Scheduler for a 100% remote position.

Job Description

  • Build and maintain project schedule in MS Project and/or Primavera
  • Work closely with Risk Manager to define project risks and risk mitigation strategies; ensure schedule impact of identified risks are defined
  • Understand change management issues associated with assigned projects; ensure such changes are defined and their schedule impact clearly articulated
  • Engage the client to develop and execute clear plans of action; demonstrate excellent client engagement skills
  • Develop schedule templates to support initial team scheduling activities
  • Ensure sequence of events reflected in the project schedule aligns with customer SDLC methodology
  • Demonstrate mastery of project scheduling best practices
  • Monitor assigned project(s) milestones, deadlines, and due dates for both Engility and project vendors; inform VA PM of any potential risks and issues that might impact the critical path
  • Develop weekly and ad hoc reports as assigned (e.g., project status, metrics)
  • Ensure on-time delivery of deliverables that meet Engility quality standards
  • Work independently with no instructions on routine tasks and with general instruction on new tasks as well as collaboratively as an effective member of a project team
  • Coordinate and facilitate scheduling meetings; provide end-user support, and perform general ad hoc duties, including action item tracking

Required Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Office management curriculum or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience as a scheduler.
  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs is strongly preferred for this position.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on schedules for multiple projects concurrently
  • Must be well versed in Agile life cycle, scheduling, and project management methodologies
  • Experience with both manual and automated scheduling systems
  • Experience must include the ability to schedule data using an automated scheduling tool and validate data following input
  • Experience in reviewing schedule data and tracking/analyzing/presenting planned versus actual progress
  • Experience conducting what-if analyses
  • Experience identifying and tracking schedule risks from initiation to program completion
  • Experience creating and presenting narrative, graphic, and oral status reports in a variety of different formats and media
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; experience interacting with senior GS levels within the federal government
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of tools, including MS Project, Visio, and SharePoint
