Business Development Manager

Our services portfolio includes Program Management Office Support, Enterprise, System and Application Architecture, Software Design and Development, Data Management, Process Management, Health Data Interoperability, Standards Definition, Software Quality Assurance, Independent Validation and Verification and Operations and Sustainment Support.  VetsEZ is a SDVOSB prime contractor on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA’s) T4NG IDIQ contract vehicle.

We are currently looking to fill a new Business Development Manager position to spearhead our identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, primarily focused on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of business development in the VA market that is driven by active client engagement, the ability to build and maintain relationships with new and existing VA customers, the ability to listen attentively and discern client requirements, the ability to tailor solutions to those needs, and the ability to close the sales cycle resulting in new business for VetsEZ. This role is about identifying and understanding client requirements, new opportunities, and re-competition of existing contracts or task orders.  It is focused on working with the VetsEZ team to shape solutions for client problems and executing a mature and informed sales process.

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to easily grasp new requirements concepts and solutions,
  • Consultative selling, particularly the ability to articulate the value proposition of VetsEZ’s services and solutions
  • A proven track record of identifying and converting opportunities into sales
  • Understanding of the Federal Acquisition process, and particularly small business contracting methods and constraints, contract vehicles, schedules and the lifecycle of acquisitions
  • Knowledge of the VA vendor marketplace and ability to successfully identify and engage teaming partners that contribute to successful capture and project execution
  • Successful execution of each phase of the sales process from opportunity identification to closing
  • Collaboration with other corporate staff, including service delivery leaders, capture managers, and proposal team
  •  The ability to develop new relationships and find untapped opportunities
  • An understanding of Health IT standards, processes, issues, technologies, systems, and decision factors
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape, and the ability to intelligently discern opportunities with high win probability that are worthy of pursuit, from those on which we should pass
  • Existing relationships with key decision-makers within the VA organization
  • Demonstrated ability to open doors and get productive meetings with key decision makers

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology or related discipline
  • Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in the VA business development arena.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in information technology and Federal Government contracting
  • Demonstrated full lifecycle business development expertise
  • Exceptional written/oral communication skills
  • Proven track record of achievement of sales goals
  • Ability to obtain Government clearance
