We understand the current state and the future direction of VA's Health and Benefits System Architecture. Within the VA, we have an excellent working knowledge of most of the VHA, VBA and NCA environments, systems and services that are currently in production and in development. The principals of the firm have over 70 years of combined experience within VA leading key projects and providing help in the areas of project management, system & enterprise architecture, software development, functional/business analysis, requirements gathering, process implementations (notably PMAS and ProPath), testing (SQA), prototyping, 508 compliance, O&M and R&D efforts.
In addition, Subject Matter Experts from VetsEZ provide though leadership and innovative approaches to VA executive management to shape up the future direction of VA Health and Benefits System Architecture. In a nutshell, the principals at VetsEZ have been involved with developing and interfacing with over 30+ systems in the VA including delivering data to 8+ User Interfaces (CPRS, CAPRI, VistAWeb, etc) by transporting 30+ data domains (related to Health & Benefits) from 20+ Data Sources (ESR EE, VistA, MVI, VAP, HDR, ADR, etc) using 13+ Data Protocols.
Release & Configuration Manager
VetsEZ is rapidly growing HealthCare IT consulting firm that designs, develops, and implements a wide range of healthcare IT solutions to federal and commercial customers. We have an opening for Configuration Manager for several large multi – year federal government project at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will leverage their previous CM knowledge and training to provide support for agile software development teams and projects. The candidate must have RTC experience and be technical (i.e. build scripts, etc.,). Knowledge of VA VIP and ProPath support would be considered a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in configuring and managing Rational Tools is required. These tools include Rational Team Concert, Rational Jazz Suite, Rational Quality Manager, Rational Requirements Composer, etc.
Experience with creating, managing and promoting different builds related to software code and related artifacts through different development and production environments is required.
Maintaining and updating the CM plan and standard operating procedures as well as ensuring projects compliance with CM plan
Managing the change process including sprint planning and execution. Creating/submitting promotion requests and reports.
Create and maintain an on-site software code configuration management library to support software check-in/check-out and version control. Administrating automated CM tools (e.g. Change requests, version controls, inventory database)
Create and maintain baseline documentation.
Create and track Requests for Change (RFCs) and Discrepancy Reports (DRs). Present status of RFCs and DRs and scheduled Engineering Review Boards (ERBs)
Assist in maintaining standard images for development, test, and production environments
Provide support to users of version control and other CM tools as needed
Required Skills / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems (or related field) or equivalent. Minimum three years of experience as in developing, building, and managing CM systems for complex systems.
Three years of experience using and administering CM tools to store, track, build, and manage configuration items (e.g. Jenkins Continuous Integration; Maven).
Experience with VA’s Benefits Gateway Services (BGS) Program is a huge plus.
Embedded within the Sprint Team Planning sessions in order to assist application teams with early definition and identification of build needs which will also fosters a deeper understanding of application dependencies
Performs Configuration Management of GIT branches for each Application/Service in which they are assigned
Assist with troubleshooting build fails and determines if operational improvements are needed.
Previous experience and knowledge of VIP and ProPath support is a plus.
Active VA access is a plus.
Current MBI security clearance very helpful.
